Serious injury can occur as a result of a motor vehicle accident. In New Jersey, the law allowing recovery for injuries sustained as a result of a motor vehicle accident has changed and continues to change.

New Jersey is what is termed a "no fault" state. All owners of vehicles are required by law to maintain insurance coverage for protection in the event of an accident. The policies of insurance contain provisions for liability coverage and for the payment of medical bills (Personal Injury Protection). The State of New Jersey has posted the current requirements for insurance policies and PIP benefits.
